Depending on how much you got it for, you can probably take off the 00VI setup with injectors and lower mani and sell that and probably be ahead of the game already. Then if you want, pop the DEK block into your car, and be ahead of the game, money wise.

From the looks of the timing chain cover slightly leaking oil by the main pulley, it just generally looks like it has alot of miles on it. No front coil packs ??

nope no front the rear were there. I am going to pull it apart and get amiliary with the internals of a DOHC V6 engine.
Anyone know where the VIn on the engine is stapped if i can find it i can do a car far and get an idea of miles on the motor?

I don't think I will sell the 00VI since all interest in it has died down. I am going to keep it and maybe try installing it on my car for dynoing.

You have to have the VIN from the car to start and then match that to the ESN number on the Bell housing of the motor. Call Nissan USA from their 1800 number on their website.

What I did was run the VIN that the salvage yard gave me through Carfax. That told me the mileage was correct for that VIN, then I made sure that VIN matched the ESN number thats stamped on my block.

A dirty 8500 miles Right now, it looks sweeeett. That pic is when I first got it

There is a lot extra to learn and its enjoyable to pull it apart and see what we normally wouldnt see. I'm pulling apart a spare DE, and its interesting to see various parts, and learn a little more.

You ARE putting the 00VI on your car, though, right?

haha, and how is the i30 motor better than the maxima motor...they're both vq30de(k)'s regardless. ahh, whatever. maybe he thought the pulley was the turbo, because i see nothing on the motor that would resemble a turbo. nice find btw, you should install the de-k, upper and lower manifolds since you've got em. youll enjoy it, trust me.

The I30 ENGINE makes 227hp vs the Max's 222hp

Ugggh. It's the same as the power rating in the AE (227), which is still the same amount of power. Nissan just skewed the numbers for marketing. Either you're really gullible or don't do much reading.

the motor is the same. perhaps there is a different exhaust or intake set up, but the motor is the same. so how is it going to be "slightly better", unless there would be a different intake manifold or cams, such is the case between the vq30de and de-k. im going to go out on a limb and say that 5 hp will not make ANY difference at the racetrack.

Whoa, words like that are rarely used here lol, superfluous for most.
