Groaning noise from brakes.

When my car starts moving after stopping using brakes theres a groaning noise. I think it's my e-brake because i normally dont use it but yesterday i pulled it because i was getting under my car to check something. Besides http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/303 are there any other fixes/outlines i should be looking at? Or perhaps other outlooks on the problem?

Front or rear? I'm assuming rear since you mentioned the e-brake...check out this TSB. I have the same issue occasionally.

if it's the rear, your calipers could be seized.... and your pads could be worn all the way down and grinding into the rotors. if that WERE the case, you'd need new calipers/rotors/pads.

it is the e-brake. and it is according to that bulletin but what i'm wondering is am i able to release it from under the car. Its not worn down since i dont touch the e-brake (i read about this issue before) but I used it when i got under the car since i didnt have ramps and was just using my driveway.

It sould like a common issue I see with a lot of cars. Mine does it when I am completely stoped then I let my brakes off a little bit and it groans. My moms 05 maxima does it too, as well as our suburban.

Brake noise can also be attributed to the kind of pads you are using, as well as improper break in.

When I was using Hawk HPS pads I would sometimes get some groaning from them. This was even after following the proper breaking in procedure.
