Front Suspension Bushing Replacement/Upgrade
Front Suspension Bushing Replacement/Upgrade
I'm going to replace my front sway bar to control arm bushings because my originals are very worn. Has anybody used the Energy Suspension bushings? They're only $6.50 each compared to $8.50 or $23.50 for two different Moog bushings.
Has anybody used the Energy Suspension Front End Control Arm Bushing set? Is it worth $35?
Are there any other bushings I should plan to replace while I'm under there? Does anybody know of any good sets?

I have energy suspension bushings on the way, should be here tommorrow. I ordered the swaybar to frame bushings along with the ones to replace the endlink (grommets) bushings.
I'll let you know how they are but I am also replacing the control arms so if this car handles better I won't know which thing helped the most since all the stuff is going on at the same time.

I used them and tossed them in the trash shortly after. The bushings tore in half about 4 months after I installed them. After that I replaced them with OEM ones. No problems since.

I've had my ES swaybar to frame bushings on for a few days now and they seem to help cornering a little but it seems like the rear end is not nearly as solid as the front.
I would rate my suspension like this:
Bone stock without front strut bar 4 out of 10
With FSTB 5 out of 10
With new control arms and ES swaybar link bushings/oem swaybar bushings 7 out of 10
With ES swaybar bushings 8 out of 10

Anyway, my point is that ES bushings are much better than worn out stock bushings. But they're hardly any different from good stock bushings. There's no need to get a chubby about them. "Upgrades" don't make the difference, replacing what's bad makes the difference.
I had the ES front sway bar bushings replaced twice and gave up.
Like someone had mentioned earlier, they tore in less than a year.
I was certain that I had installed them correctly with the split facing
the same way as OEM. I went back to OEM. I do have the endlink
bushings and they are fine.
