offically a 5 spd - got a ques for the "converted"
man all that hard work was worth it ! i cant wait till the 500 miles break in is over.
if your contemplating this.....do it its really worth it 10x over...
i have a question for the "converted" does your idle stay at 1000-1500 for moment when you press the clutch in say comming to a traffic light then go down to normal ?? if it did how did you fix it ?

I'm thinking about doing the swap, is it a lot of work, how long does it take, etc... I would've pm'd you, but since I don't have 15 posts yet I can't. Any info would be appreciated, thanks

well im pretty knowledable with car mechanics and i would have had it done in 10-12 hours but i was missing a part. Just be prepared for anything to happen cause it will. heres a glimpse...
i got into the project early sat morn and by the afternoon i realized i had no timing gear for my flywheel.
after getting the gear a few days later the passenger axels i boght had really messed up threads so i used my auto passenger axel.
OH that reminds me people the auto passenger axel is the same as the manual passenger axel im using my auto axel on the pass side and it works fine.
is it involved ? yup...worth it ? definitly theres a write up on how to do it if you arent sure of every step

Welcome to the 5 speed world, I did my conversion last year and been loving it since.
Mine does the same as yours, hasn't really bothered me too much, and from talking to other ppl with 5 speeds, I've heard its normal. It's for easier shifting at lower RPM, otherwise when you go to the next gear, its a little jerky.
Nissan's have always thought carefully about shifting. So that sounds to be about the right explination for it.
