B Rad,
I had the same problem with my brake light on my 95, I took the light out and noticed there was a burnt resistor. ( I had heard somewhere that that was usually the problem.) I replaced the resister and it has worked ever since. The resistor was about 2 bucks from Radio Shack. Take a look at the light. and see if thats the problem.

I just fixed mine last weekend on my 96. Take the light out of the spoiler and see if you can take the lense off the base. It took me a while to do this because they are glued and I did not want to crack anything in half. If you get one edge loose and start twisting and pulling and the glue will let go. Once you have that apart look on the the circuit board with the leds facing you and see if you have two metal wires sticking up but not touching. They should be close to the wires that supply power to the lights. This is where mine was broken. I dont know if it was a resistor or just a fuse but I soldered the two wires togethere and the lights work now. So I just siliconed the lense back on and it has been running for almost a week now with no porblems. BUT if anyone could tell me what that component was that burned up I would really appreceate it. I would have researched it a little more but I did not have time because I was taking the car on a road trip and needed to put it back in. Also I noticed something ratelling around in the lense when I took the light out but I did not find it when I was prying the lense off. I wish I did so I could see what it was. So if you solder those two leads do so at your own risk. I dont know what that component was so it could have been a resistor, cap, or a fuse. So not putting the same component back in could cause damage to something down the line. That is only if you have the same problem. Let us know what happens.
