brake squeel

when i replaced my front brake pads, i didnt replace shims on my new pads. so could this be the source of the brake squeel i encounter when i slightly apply pressure to the brakes? i did bleed the brake system though but everything works fine. just need advice thanks.

If you didn't use the shims, did you apply the anti-squeal compound as well? Yeah, it's recommended to use the shims on the front brakes, but for the rears you can get away without the shims, just as long as you use the anti-squeal compound, you won't have any squealing noise. I would do the front brakes over again and put the shims on. I betcha the squeal will go away then. Good luck!

Yeah, some brake lube on the back of the pads will help and also some on the caliper where the ends of the pads touch and the guide bolts.

my breaks make some weird noises too, simple way to fix it is to turn up the stereo.

Shims > any goo on the back of the pads. Off topic but do you know any one selling any rims?
