Why does my Maxima shift hard into 2nd gear?

Hey guys 80% of the time when driving spiritedly the Maxima bumps hard into 2nd. Have any of you had this and if so WTF???? Is it one of the Motor mounts or something????

Hard shift = normal. I don't mind it anymore. Synthetic ATF helps, but that shift is pretty efficient as far as acceleration goes.

Guys please help because this is the car that I am leaving with my family while I am in Afghanistan for 14 months and I leave soon. I want to make it perfect before I leave. When I am there I will be cut off from the rest of the world until my time is up.

I appreciate all help that anyone offers.

Are they all like that??? It seems a little rough to me. I would think that a smoth effortless shift would be better on the Tranny and for times.

Thanks for the advice. Yes it has recently been flushed but the car was always well maintained. It has done the hard shift thing since I purchased it.

I just thought that maybe it was a worn motor mount or bushing somewhere that does it.

Nate, 1) Check that tranny is not overfilled
2) If fluid is in good condition, you can try to add Lubeguard Red (one bottle) , It should do wonders.

Good Luck with your trip to Afganistan. Wish you a safe & Sound return back to US.

it could be the resistor assemly for the tranny. I changed one from another maxima and it was much better than my original one but still had tiny hard shift from 1 to 2 shift when its cold. I m tryting to buy a brand new one from nissan.

Thanks a million!!!

1) Checked the tranny fluid and it is spot on.

2) It was changed 3-4 months ago by Nissan (A Master Mechanic that know I trust).

Thanks again, I hope to return safe and sound. Although, I would die for my country I would prefere making the enemy do so instead.

it's located on your driverside strut tower, kind of hidden by the airbox. in another post, someone identified it as nissan part number 31037-71L00 . I think i'm going to try locating a brand new one too to see if it helps this problem.

I apologize but I don't understand what you are trying to say here. They are not nearly as what?

Again I am not trying to sound rude just didn't get what you posted and am hoping for some clarification.
