Help! Did the ECU self diagnostic and dont know what the code means
Hey guys i recently picked up a 95 Nissan Maxima GLE. I love the car but im getting terrible gas mileage and then the other day my check engine light came on. I did the self diagnostic test with the ECU and it had 5 short pulses and 5 long ones which in the ECU decoder said "No Failure Recorded/Detected" So does this mean nothing is wrong with my car? If so why did the engine light come on? Im confused.

Reset it
try to reset your ecu by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for about an hour. If you're not throwing any codes, that should hopefully knock out the check engine light. If it comes back try an odbII tester, not the one that come built into the ecu.

Why dont you read the whole post before acting like a tool

Ooh ooh! I know this one! I have done it this month. What I did to replicate this is since the ecu is so F*ing annoying to twist the screw, i dont know if its twisting or not, so I ended up resetting it instead of doing the first diagnostic part. Then I twist it again, look up, and its blinking 0505. This means that it was reset, so no codes...
