Making cali spec y pipe fit a fed spec car

Simple question....what do i have to do to make a cali spec y pipe fit a fed spec car, and would the performance increase be equal to me buying a fed spec y pipe? Probably a topic that's been talked about, but i couldn't really find anything in the stickies!
