Suggestions for replacement axles?

I just had my buddy replace my resonator pipe because it had rusted out almost completely and while he had it in the air he noticed that both of my axles have leaking boots.

So the plan is to replace the axles but I'm not really well versed on the various brands of aftermarket axles or how reliable they'll be. I'm considering either NAPA auto parts or Advance Autoparts (I've got a buddy that works there), both of which have several different options for axles. I'm not averse to reman parts (obviously they're cheaper) especially the ones that have warranties.

I've got a '97 GLE Auto, has anyone had experiences with any aftermarket axle brands? Horror stories, good stories, whatever. Any help is appreciated.

I've used remanufactured drive axles on several cars including my Max a month ago and never had any problems. There's nothing special about drive shafts -go for the best prices I say.

I purchased mine from Raxles.com thanks to the many praises I read here. When my wife needed hers replaced, I just bought it from Advanced Auto and saved myself some money. Both seem fine so far.

Ditto, I just replaced the drivers side with a raxle and it fit like a glove.

Also, you get great customer service and a free knife to boot.

reallly unless ur putting down tons of power or drag race Raxles are pointless...u can goto AZ or NAPA get lifetime warranty remans.....axles take like 45 min to change if u have problems.....no reason to spend the extra cash....with auto-x and roadcourses my AZ remans are fine....if u launch hard alot maybe raxles are for you

I've never seen drive axles made so well or experienced customer service so helpful as with Raxles. Despite the fact that they cost a bit more, I'd buy them every time (and I have no intentions of racing).

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm really not very hard on this car at all, unlike my last one. Cost is definitely a motivator, I've also got to replace the downstream 02 sensor and the knock sensor as well, and I just replaced the resonator pipe and put tires on the car.

All the feedback is appreciated.

Save yourself heartache and heartburn and use RAXLES...NO problems and courteous service. You get what you pay for. Spend less and take a chance or pay slightly more and guarantee the right stuff- the first time!! Low-ball "Lifetime guarantee's" are just a gimmic...nobody pays for your time and effort to replace when they take a crap(s).
