I just had a belt replaced and its squeaking like crazy now. Whats causing this and how can i fix it? i was think they might have gotten oil on the belt or the tension might not be right

if you have a haynes guide, to check the tension it says to find a belt span of about 11 inches from pulley center to pulley center and lay a flat object across the top of the pulleys, the belt should only flex about 1/4 of an inch. the belt change wasn't really that hard of a job anyway so just take it off and check it. when i changed mine, i got a BF goodrich belt and i ended up with a cool supercharger type whirring noise. i put the same kind of belt on my moms minivan and got the same sound effect. it was kind of funny

Power steering has it's own belt. It only goes from the crank to the pulley on the (power steering) pump. The other belt (acc) is AC/ALT/crank.

I doubt it needs to be replaced, just tightened.
