passenger side air bag removal.

i need to remove a passenger side dash airbag from my parts car. how do i go about doing this? couldnt find anything in the stickies.

take the glove box out, its bolted to the metal bar under the dash and to the dash. you need a set of security torx to get it out though. theyre the ones with a home int he middle of them

ah...so it uses the same tamper proof torx as the drivers side one.

well, got my tamper proof torx last week, finally decided to take it out today. i removed the 2 torx, and the 2 10 mm's holding it in from the side...wont come out...are there some more holding it in that are hidden? i couldnt see anything.

will you pm how much it weighs ? i have to do the same thing. disconnecting the battery for 15mins or more keeps it from exploding in your face right ? how lame would that be ?

it's like 10-15 lbs max. the battery had been off for a while, but i had to reconnect it to move the seats , but no injuries. better safe than sorry though

yeah..i found the other 2 10mm's today. i dont think im going to be putting the 6 bolts back in there tho...heh...

as far as blowing up in the face, wasnt really concerned since there was no battery in the car.
