Max has no get up

I cleaned my air filter, changed my oil (to Royal Purple), put in super gas (93 octane) yet the Max is still hella slow. Today I had an open stretch of road ahead of me. I hit it, but the Max would only get up to 117 mph. Now I've driven this car in germany on the autobahn and once on a closed track I was clocked at 143 mph. I had at least a mile of open road left and I couldn't get it past 117. Someone help me before I trade it in on that Charger I test drove the other day.

Dirty Throttle Body maybe? You didnt say if you cleaned it, maybe? I cleaned mine today, has never been cleaned, 80K miles on one air filter too...one I replaced the Air filter with a drop in and cleaned the throttle body, it was a lot punchier and the butt dyno said it was smoother.

I'm only trying it cause a friend works at a speed shop in Kansas city and gave me a deal on 5 qts. He claims it will improve my gas mileage and make the engine run cooler. Show me.

thanks for the reminder on the ghost code. It is the dreaded 0304. I had this code and the O2 code back in 2003. The shop said to just replace the O2 sensor which I did, but after driving underpowered for so long I forgot what this car could do. Hopefully this will give me back my power. thanks again for the knowledge.

RP is fine, its on par with Mobil One, and either way, it wont cause a 20 someodd mph difference in top speeds, KS code gets my vote

Oh man, same thing happened to me only completely diff...

I cleaned out all the tubes and hoses on the EVAP valve system, etc., reset my computer, and now my maxima lost it's kick.

I would floor it before and get pushed back into my seat, now its just a slow steady acceleration with a bunch of sound. There's no kick in it.

Awww ****...what i do now?

1. Read sticky's.
2. Get a can of Throttle Body cleaner
3. Remove intake and spray throttle body.

I cleaned it out with towels and the spray and then I ran the car while my father sprayed some inside just to get a little better clean.

I love how newbies always never read the stickies and just try to rack up posts...

I think we need to make like a banner for the discussion board that says

"ALL NEWBIES MUST READ STICKIES FOR ANY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS"

or something along that point
