Getting Rdy to do 95/96 Grill (preguide?)
ive been wanting to do my grill for couple wks now
but busy with classes and work, so i finally got the ***** today to go buy the shiz for it, which is half the work. for anyone who wants to do their grill and is clueless let this help you. (less research for you)
i first went to LOWES (same as home depot) and then to walmart. i was kinda pissed because u can find everything u need at walmart for cheaper. somethings were even better there at walmart. if youre gonna go buy this stuff go to walmart! for spraypaint and clearcoat lowes had much better selection at same prices.
items bought (left to right in picture)
1. black zip ties (100 ties 8" @ lowes for $4.50. get it at walmart)
2. masking tape (get it at walmart)
3. clear coat ($3.50 @ lowes)
4. black spray paint glossy ($3.50 @ lowes)
5. snips ($9 @ lowes)
6. paper mask (.88 @ walmart)
not pictured
7. black&decker cordless drill ($19 @ walmart)
8. 3/16" bit for drill ($2 @ walmart)
9. 1 metal gutter guard ($0.61 @ lowes)
10. sandpaper ($2 @ lowes. get it at walmart)
so hopefully i can get this crap done soon. will post when i finish i guess. im considering returning the 8" zip ties because they seem a little wide but the 4" ones seemed too thin and i worried that they might just break.

I'm using the gutter guard to cover original stock grill.
I didn't feel the need to show steps because the diy instructions are pretty good from vqpower.com and I'm sure they can be found elsewhere I.e. The how to section.
I just felt it didn't really show the necessary products needed as well. Stop the hating and .

Man you have a bunch of stuff to do a simple job. I cut and formed the gutter guard to the grill and used the emblem to secure it. Once you mold the mesh too the grill, you don't really need much to hold it in place. I didn't bother clearing it, I figure you have to replace it once and awhile anyway. Bugs and stones make dents in the mesh you can't get out. Here's a pic of mine, it's about 2 years old.
