Front Rotors Pads

1999 Nissan Maxima. Have took it to 3 dealers I have a noise clank in the front all 3 said it was rusted rotors. ???? Well I am going to change mine with new pads. There are a few that came up 1.OEM's 2.Bremo 3. ATE 4. Prostop Drilled Power Slot Drilled 506 DR5. 6...BENDIX..
I guess I would do a Hawk or simular ceramic PADS anyone happy with any of these suggestions. The Ate promise to stop rusting as fast? who knows..Not looking to sup up car just looking for a break system maybe a step up from oem's...Thank you.
If this fails I am off for other opinions.
Thanks

I have heard good things about Hawk HPS pads.

IIRC zinc-plating helps fight (or solve) rusting.

IMO, it really depends on what kind of engine or performance mods you have on ur car...if u got a lot of speed, then ur gonna want a lot of breakin power to match it up. If ur pretty much stock, then I'd just go wit bendix from advance or autozone..btw, ceramic is great cuz they have less brake dust..

I missed this in the initial post but drilled and slotted rotors will do nothing in the stock size. You will lose surface area and burn the pads up quicker.

If you must slotted are better than drilled.

Clanking noise may be something other than brakes...

Rust will ALWAYS occur on the swept area of cast iron rotor after getting them wet like after a car wash or rain if you let them sit for a bit without driving it dry. The rust will go away after the first few applications of the brake when you start driving it.

Rusty rotors don't cause "clank" or cluck noises in your front end.
I'm amazed that nobody in this thread has realized this yet.....
