i unplugged the wire clip in the back and got the first screw out of the side on the right-hand side. but then there's that screw on the left, kinda behind te gas pedal back there. anyone who's done this wanna offer a word of advice? is there any other annoying screws or brackets?

 

...grab a case of beer first. Its the worst job I have ever had to do on the Max. Its not hard by any mean, just time consuming and akward.

There are 2 screws on the "firewall" side of the ECU. Both are a major pain to remove. I used a very small right angle racheting bit set to remove them. It was still very difficult.



This might work well too:

 

ha, nothing like some ecu punishment. get video of yourself drinking beer laying upside down in the car trying to get the ecu out ! ROFL ! its tough even removing the seats and battling it out.

not sure if the images will help, but will help you gain a mental image of whats up in there.
