i believe they cost around 120$ per side, and are brand new. most axles you get will be rebuilt, they have new CV joints, the important part, and reused shafts. basically i think raxles are a rip off unless for some reason you are going through axles like i go through toothpaste. dont ever buy autozone axles, total POS's. at napa i paid around 60$ for the pass side, after core charges

raxles are high quality rebuilds. They use certain part of of axles but for the most part the rest of the axle is new, with quality parts and greeses. If you felt their axle boots, its tough.

Raxles.com call them speak to Marti, Fantastic guy.

wheel bearings you could have new ones pressed in. You could follow the write up on motorvate.ca. Or like some do, just buy a whole new spindle (junkyard) and make it an easy fix. Then you dont know what shape the previous wheels bearins are in . .. but you would have a 30 day warantee

I dont want ot hijack the thread, I have a quick question:

Im buying an axle from auto store. Driver side axle.

Does my car has LSD? its a 1996 maxima SE and how do I find out if I have ABS? I havent pulled my wheel off and I tried breaking hard on wet road but it didnt go on. Any quick way to find out?

You more than likely dont have LSD, but look at the vid plate under the hood. the silver plate again the firewall behind the TB. If there is a V in the tranny code you have LSD if its an A its an open diff.

for ABS, when you turn your key at start up does the ABS light illuminate then go away? if it doesnt you might not have abs. Also when you take off your wheel do you see another line (besides the brake line) running to your spindle? if so you have an abs sensor there which means you have ABS. If not then no.

Also check the stickies I believe in de-crypting your vin # (it explains how to in there) it will have a letter representation if you have ABS or not.

i did see some maxima racing axels - they were 330$ or so... rated at over 400hp if im not mistaken. not my cup of tea but have a look http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaPartsStores i dont remember the store, but it probably had "racing" in the name.

other than that, im looking for some axels, i dont want autozone because i hear bad things, bad axels and they never give you the correct ones (hey i heard it here many times). besides napa or raxels.com what else? i really want something cheaper than 150 (or whatever they are at raxels). they have to last 3 years and for autox-ing.

Raxles axles are great.

If you can, get Timken or Nissan OEM bearings.
