Anyone that knows? I lowered my car with intrax springs and my tires are wearing out like a ***** on the front, I looked at the tires and they are wearing on the inside more than the outside, the car does not pull to one side or the other, so i would guess it is the camber. i know Stealin has camber plates but could I get it done without buying those? Thanks in Advance

they go in place of your regular strut bolts.. and the alignment tech will turn them to diffrent degrees to move the wheels so they are straight

I think www.tirerack.com also sells them, for around the same price.

Excellent point. I didn't realize that he sold them...I bought my springs from him, and had I known (or asked) I would have bought them from him.

did you put them on? or did the alignment guy do it? And also in order to put them on I am guessing you need to compress the springs again?

you put them on.. the alignment guy adjust them.. its at the bottom of the strut housing so i don't see any reason to compress the springs again

I've got the Intrax and my camber isn't bad at all... Maybe the Sprints are a little lower though...

I did 'preload' the FSTB by installing it with the front of the car in the air... maybe that helps too...

You'll need camber bolts. It basically replaces the stock bolt that holds together the bottom of the front strut perches. Stock, the Maxima has only one adjustment for alignment: front toe.

I have a dumb question...

May I assume when you lowered the car, you had an alignment done, too? If so, you should get camber plates or camber bolts as suggested above. If not, I'd get an alignment done first, before I invested in additional hardware. Sorry if that is too basic, but your level of experience is unknown to me at this time... I'm sure I'm about to find out! :-) Good luck.

Dropping the Max

I was also wondering what all this may cost to have done. I have Tokico/Eibachs to put on my 99' Max, but when I asked my mechanic how much to put them on he said 300-400 to install, adjust camber, and align. OUCH! Does this seem high for what seems to me to be a fairly straight forward install? Have most of you done the install yourself?

Wow, that is pretty weird b/c i have InTrax as well and the shop was able to put it back to factory specs. To correct it, you can either go with the Ingral(?) camber bolts or the Stillen camber plates (for the big drops).

I've got a camber bolt kit from Eibach I no longer need. $15 to whoever needs it.

I moved up to the Stillen plates. Big difference for me when auto-x. Running -1.7deg when not on the street.

I think he is ripping you off.. 300-400 is way to much..

most places charge 100-150 to install the springs/shocks
30-50 for a alignment
so that means he is charging you 170-270 to adjust camber.

and besides... you do not need to adjust camber with that
setup... just an alignment is needed...

i have the same setup..

umm... no way...that price is WAY high!!
dear old dad is a mechanic and those prices i gave you were from his shop..

How far of a drop did you guys go? I lowerd my car 1.5 with Eibachs recently. I havent driven enough to notice any tire wear but I'm afraid of wearing the tires. I didn't bother to check the alignment. Do you think I'll have a prob? Maybe I'll invest in the camber bolts.

I got the same ones, would it be a good idea to go ahead and put the bolts in and then have a shop adjust them or just have the shop adjust them?
