mech sprayed wd-40 on my PS belt.

cooling system decided to somehow burst open on my way to work.. the neck on the rad where the upper hose decided to break clean off... got it towed to one of the mechanics i know. (ty geico) got in a new rad, all was fine. just had to leave the old coolant that spilled all over from the upper hose to dry off and wait til the white smoke stops. of course it got over my belts and everything else, so the belts start squealing... ****** sprays wd-40 just as i was takin a phonecall. i flipped.

now i get steering slippage on a cold start. any way to rid of the wd-40 that idiot sprayed on it? will it burn off after time? long story short, got the rad+labor for 100 bucks, bc the shop owner got his ear chewed off by me.

take some brake cleaner to it, but make sure you read the label to see if it eats through rubber (i dont know if it does or not). thats all i can think of.

hope this helps.

Soapy water if it really bothers you, but DONT use brake cleaner. You will be buying a new belt if you do that. Have you tried tightening your belt tensioner? I bet that would fix it. WD is not bad for the belt.

Simple Green dilluted in water. Won't harm anything, only the grease on the belt.
