Remote window roll-down into remote start?
I came across an old remote starter I had in my last, last car. Cheapo unit from Sam's Club, but always worked well enough. Nice thing about this unit was that it had an external input, so if you had a seperate alarm system that had an optional output, you could hook that to this remote starter and trigger it to start via your alarm remote.
So then I remembered that on my 95 GLE, you can roll the front windows down by holding the unlock button. I have never had any real use for this feature besides impressing friends and onlookers. I would much rather use this output to trigger a remote start.
My question is, does anyone know where the output wire for this roll-down feature is? The remote starter just requires a momentary ground input to trigger the start, I figure holding down the unlock button for a short time after unlocking the car will be perfect.
Thanks for anyone that has any knowledge on this system, I did a search before posting this but really came up with nothing.

yeah, I figured as much coming out of the BCM, but I wonder if there's some sort of unit that's receiving this signal and sending a constant voltage somewhere to operate the 2 front windows similtaneously.
I need to get my hands on some real wiring diagrams. Maybe my dad can nab some from the dealership. He always thinks I'm wasting my time when I ask him about some strange project.

I have no idea how that item will in any way do what I was asking. I don't give a crap about remotely operating the windows, I want to use the factory security system to activate an engine starter. Does the viper 530T module do this in a "non-ghetto" way? My guess is that it doesn't do it whatsoever.

The unit I plan to install is a full-featured system with door lock outputs, etc, but I'd rather just deal with the "starter" connections and interface with the OEM system to activate it, rather than have to wire in the locks, trunk release, etc. Just seems like there should be a way to intercept the remote roll-down output and use it for something else.

Thanks. I'm kinda surprised I never bought a Chilton's manual for the Maxima, since I (had) 2 of em at the same time. Always had a manual for my older cars. But I think the reason was because they were junky GM rides that always broke on me and I needed to figure **** out!
Thanks for whatever you can find. I came up with nothing on Autozone today, their online manuals are usually decent, but no mention of security wiring or anything related.

always fun when an old post you forgot about gets a hit...
No, never really went any further with it. And now that warm weather has arrived in Chicago, probably won't until next winter, if we even still have that car. I wanna get wifey into a 99-02 G20 (save some gas with the 2.0) but the right car (cheap) has yet to present itself.
