just did that two days ago at the dealer, they used Dexron 3, had bad experience with this fluid before on my 97 dodge neon, but thats another story

before the change: when cold the shift from park to drive/reverse was harsh my car sort of jumped into gear, i mean it didnt feel broken, but i could tell i was shifting, also when speeding up i could feel the auto tranny go from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd very obviously

After the oil flush: i can trow my car in reverse or drive in cold with no hitching no jumping. can still feel the change from 1st to 2nd while driving, but the change from 2nd to 3rd is gone, its all smotther now

i bought my car used and dunno if the tranny oil was ever changed, basicalyl dexron helped but did not cure 100 %, do it its juts 90 dollars from the dealer, why not ?

here is what the manual states about tranny fluid:
"Recomended Nissan matic "D" (continental US and Alaska) or Genuine Nissan automatic transmission fluid (canada) or dexron IIE or Dexron 3 or equivalent, contact dealer for equivalent fluids "

duno what nissan matic D is but it says dexron 3 so thats what my dealership used, it seems good right now, worth the 90 dollars

i just did a tranny drain/re-fill with Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. I also put in seafoam transtune prior to doing the drain. I gotta tell you that it really smoothed out the cold 1-2 shifts, and after it warms up, it's perfect! I reccomend this to anyone planning to a drain/refill or a flush!

i didn't hear some good stuff from bob the oil guy about lucas ...i want to put it in the tranny but i don't know as for the dextron 3 most people use it with now problems ...

no as for the hard shift from 1-2 or from park to reverse to drive and feeling a light shock in the cold thats not normal....check the rear motor mount thats where the tranny meets the engine!...
