New muffler right under bumper.

Hey all,

I purchased an aftermarket muffler from one the forum members this past summer and finally got around to putting it on today. The end of the muffler tip just touches the rear bumper plastic on the bottom. Before I cause any damage, anyone have a tip on something I could place on the bottom of my bumper to keep it from getting burned by the muffler?

BTW - it sounds pretty sweet.

Dremel the bumper. Unless you do heat tape or soemthing. But that will look pretty bad.

Good thought on those rubber hangers. Wouldnt that mean you need all those hangers replaced on the muffler? I wonder if that would effect the piping?

Just get the exhaust up to temp for a period of time and monitor it. My tip is snug right up to the bumper and it has caused no ill effects. If it is a very thin tip (Greddy style) then you may want to drop it, if it is thicker (HKS style) it will be fine.
