The remote trunk release just quit working on my 95 GLE. Nor does the trunk release inside the car open the trunk either. You can hear the mechanism click but trunk won't open. Is this a problem for the dealer or can I fix it? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

Does the trunk still open with the key? If so, perhaps someone or something moved the Cancel Lever in the trunk. From the Owner's Manual:

Cancel Lever

When the lever is in the cancel position the trunk lid cannot be opened with the trunk lid release lever or handle. It can be opened only with the key.

 

The Cancel lever is located right under the lock mecinisum. It moves up or down so try it in the oppisite direction.
