Need help diagnosing Hard Starting issue
This is not related to cold weather, it has been going on for months now, plus I live in Dallas and it's not that cold out still. I have been experiencing hard starts for a while now and need to solve the problem. The hard starts are intermittent and twice now while cranking the CEL has been tripped and shows code 0101, which led me to check the camshaft position sensor. I think I may have narrowed it down to the camshaft position sensor. When I checked it I unplugged the connector and it was full of oil! The only way the oil could have gotten into the connector was if it leaked through the sensor. Anyone else ever experience this? Should I just replace the sensor? I think I will clean the oil from the connection again and pay close attention this time to make sure the starting problem actually is resolved. If you have an experience with this please respond. Thanks.

Whoa this is kinda freaky. I bought my car this past summer and it was starting like a champ. Lately, however, it has been having trouble starting in the mornings too. I was thinking it was the weather since every once and a while it'll get kind of chilly (40-50 degrees). I know that isn't really cold at all and shouldn't affect the start up all that much but I have felt a difference this past couple months. Let me know if you figure out the cause of your problems.
