More Starting Problems And Oil On My Plugs

I have starting issues as well. I just replaced the starter to a brand new one. I pulled one of my plugs out, and it was wet a bit. This has only started a couple days ago...but now I can not get this thing started. Any suggestions other than letting it dry out?

My other problem is that I pulled out my rear plug closest to the passenger wall a months ago when I changed plugs. It was COVERED in oil- even the ignitor. The thing is, I'm experiencing no driving problems, idle problems, and the motor pulls strong. Any thoughts?

Any white smoke in the exhaust?

EDIT: Err, blue smoke, rather.

I don't think I got white smoke. But talking to my cousin, he has a hunch that the oil on my plug is from valve cover gasket going bad. He also thinks that the FPR is gone bad too on my car. It's still flooded at this point.

I'm not aware if our valve cover gasket has the plug tube seals integrated into it or not, but if there is oil on the threads, it's likely those tube seals (or seal). If you're burning oil, you should see blue smoke, even if just a bit (though if it's only one cylinder and not a lot, it may not really show at all). Is it a fast or slow leak (i.e. oil level drop any?)

oil on the #1 plug is not uncommon for some reason. there have been numerous similar threads reporting the same condition. in every case that I have seen it is NOT due to faulty plug tube seals. you can quickly verify this by pulling the plug and looking down in there with a flashlight - if the tube seal is bad there will be oil flowing down the wall of the tube and pooling at the bottom. I too had an oily #1 plug but my tube seals are fine. I have no explanation for it other than it could perhaps be valve seals, but I don't burn any oil at all. so I've just decided to ignore it.

if your other plugs are "wet", I'm assuming with gas, then your flooding it somehow or you're not getting spark. I can't offer much help there, sorry.

Yea, thanks guys for the input so far. All I can say, is that there is a massive amount of oil in that plug area. When I pulled my ignitor out, it was soaked and dripping, as well as my spark plug socket and extension.

My exhaust isn't of any color at all. We'll see what comes of it.

You prolly wont see any color in your exhaust with a cat...

well then, in your case you certainly do have a bad tube seal. you need to get a valve cover gasket set and replace all seals and the VC gasket. rear bank is a PITA b/c you have to remove the UIM to get it off.
