00vi install

Hey I am almost done getting all the parts i think i need to do the 00vi install. I have search for many hours and read tons of threads about how to install this but I don't believe that there is a ful write up on it with or with out pictures. I am hoping to get all the parts I need by christmas and then hopefully get this done over christmas break before school starts up. I live in Mass and would love a hand, I think I read that there is someone in Mass that installs 00vi's for others can't remember right now what member it is that does that. If anyone knows who feel free to chime in. I wouldn't mind paying some money for help and taking pictures and getting a write up done for this so we can have one for anyone else that wants to try this. Well I hope to get some good replys and hopefully get some help and get this intall done ASAP. thanks in advance and hopefully I can get a write up to help all others and it will hopefully get into the stickies. If any one has any good info or tips feel free to chime in. Thanks once again and wish me luck.

You were referenced quite a bit in the thread so I didn't feel a need to mention.

I think you have THE 00VI resource!

With all the activity on the all motor forum, its true what everyone has said. There's enough info that a write up is almost not needed.

Yep. Apparently our gas here isn't good enough for the DD engines

thanks to all that replied. I was just trying to get a write up with step by step pictures so that it could be stickied and be there for others. I know there is one in the how to sticky for the MEVI I figgured why not for the 00VI and I agree that tatanko's site is almost all you need but I will be doing the fuel rail and throttle body as long as I can make it all work if I do this and have time to take pictures maybe i will try to get it stickied or maybe someone can sticky tatnko's site and that will help a lot of people. thanks once again to everyone and ill post during christmas break when I fifnish installing.

All the parts should be at my house when i get there for winter break and I think I'll try to get this done ASAP one more question I think I can do this but I know there was someone in mass that was installing these for people, does any one know who it is or was. If he is still doing the installs I might ask for his guidance.

all the parts come out to around 350 400 unless you buy a whole engine which if i had enough help around is the route i would have went but most of my friends that work on cars have moved away over the past few years so I'm doin my own work and didn't feel confident trying to tackle a whole engine swap. wish i could have. If you keep your eyes on the classifieds you can get complete 00vi setups or pm Curt he can usually get a complete setup in a week or two. make sure you do lots of research before tackling this I'm still not sure I'll get this in without any problems but ill let you know in a week or so

My parts cost much more than 300-400. I'm looking about 600 I believe. Depends where you go and all. As I've been told by many, you will run into problems. I'm expecting to as well.

it just depends the route you go (4th gen lower and 4th gen tb/iacv or everything 5th gen ect). I think the part that's kinda "unproportional" is getting the adaptor plates for the iacv and TB from the 4th gen to fit on the new manifold. They cost like 200 to have them made professionally...my manifold didnt even cost that much. I made them myself i just bought a piece of metal from a fellow orger, and i've got the tools. I think in total i spent a little under 300 on my swap.

Right on the nose chillen. I got a block from krismax and that added up the cost of the UIM. Truth is I bought all extra parts. I'm using 4th LIM so I got a new one drilled by Steve. Plus I got a 5th rear cover and coils that I'm not going to use. Coils were wrong year (other guys mistake for not knowing what year and mine for trusting and not getting pics first). So yeah...I dont mind tho. I'm more about the experience of doing this and having that extra power. I dont care about the extra $$ right now haha. Till I want that y-pipe that is. Haha

I bought a set up off curt and just secured a MSD 8969 rpm switch and an adapter off "stephen max" cost $75 and it all cost me less than $500 so as long as I get the gaskets don't run to high im still lookin good for install next week after X-mas

KRRZ350 is going to lend a hand and hopefully we can get this done sometime after xmas pics and a possible write up will follow along with a huge smile with the extra ponies through out the entire range. Can't wait to join the 00vi club.

If I was closer I'd be over for sure...My 00vi is on a FedEx truck right now...I'd plan for at least a week or two to get it working correctly.

I'm not sure when you have to get back to school but you might want to have some backup transportation just in case.

I'm planning on using the bus to get to work for about two weeks once I dive in...
