you got it. No idle pulley. I have no idea how I lost it, but thought my alternator was going bad when I saw voltage decreasing on my VAFCII. Just made it home from work yesterday when voltage was at 8.9v.

I dont know how I lost it, but good thing I have a beater in the drive way.

Anyone know the part number for the pulley? Fast will not load on my computer. Dont know how good autozone's quality is on the part.

idle pulley is an idle pulley i dont have fast on this computer I have one installed at home ill be there in like 3 hours if no one posts before then ill give it to you. And as far as how you lost it its porbably the bolt that was holding it fell out. But then again you have a belt on. What happened to the belt?

they just opened up a few around me. I know certain parts you just stick with oem. I'm wondering if this part falls in that catagory.

If I could just get the wheel and the bolt I'll be fine, but I'm sure no where sells just that.

You know I do remember loosening the bolt during my swap but I tightened it back down. I probably should have tightened it more, maybe with my impact.

The belt held on, and i took it off yesterday, a little shredded so I'll need a new one.

If you could that would be sweet. sending you a PM also . . .

I got a idler pulley put on from my Beater, but clearance is tight! I'm still going to look into getting a new one from Nissan. The Pulley was about 2-4mm from the 12mm bolts that hold the idler in place. I dont know if its normally that close or if something is off. I rotated the crank a few times and no interference, but man thats kinda close.

that pic isnt a good source, but kinda gives an idea.

I broke traction all of a sudden when I was driving home, that must have been when the pulley fell off.

This idler pulley is still a problem. So I grabbed the pulley from my beater. . . I actually just removed the wheel part and the bolt that holds it in place. I put it onto my idler pulley that was already on my car. I truly did not like how close the idler pulley sat towards the bar of the tensioner. This morning was in a rush to get to work (cant miss any more days for work) so I jumped my car, tensioner was kinda loud and it appear its was midly colliding with the bar as I saw an occational spark shoot off. Drove to work, at the beginning of my drive my voltage was up to 13.9 so I was happy. But 5 mintues from work, it dropped to 12.9 then by the time I got to work it was 11.8 . . . I imagine the belt is slipping off or something with the tensioner. Going to see if Nissan has it in stock, if no I’ll go with Autozone, hopefully it will have a warrantee should something brake with it. . .

Damn. . . pulley

yea I paid $55 for the idler pulley. I looked today and the bolt came off again but my pulley was still there

going to tighten it good, and use some loctite that should help keep it in place.

You shouldn't need locktite for that nut.

no, I shouldnt need it, but I've lost two nuts, and one pulley. A little wont hurt, but the oem Nissan I just picked up today looks like quality. When I tightened down the bolt on the other tensioner it interfered withs its free ability to rotate. When I tighten with the OEM I just picked up today, its still free spins easily. I'll put the OEM piece in tomorrow and it should cure the problem.

There should be a spacer that goes between the front dust cover and the actual pulley. I think that's why it wasn't spinning freely. Although, i've seen a pulley without the spacer and it spun freely. But getting that spacer would've fixed the issue for sure.

and I see your post after I figured it out. $55 bucks later I had the new tensioner from Nissan. Looking at it it appeared as if it would have more clearance. I went last night to put in on and I noticed the idler pulley was cutting in one of the lower 12mm bolts that holds the tensioner in place.

Light bulb, I looked at the tensioner on my beater and saw a very thick spacer. I knew that is what I was missing and installed that on. I immediately saw a difference and knew there wouldnt be any clearance issues.

Drove the car today and checked belt tension, everything. That did the trick. I didnt even need the new tensioner. But my beater will need its tensioner replaced since I stole it for my car.

Problem solved

You are missing some or all of the spacers that go with the pulley This is why you have little to no clearance.
