What do i need to hook it up to my 99 sel with the bose system and i don't have the eom 6 disc. Do they sell a mp3/aux interface for our oem Bose Hu. Anyone have a link for it or know what i need to do i didn't want to do the fm modulator rt it has horrible sq. any help would be much appreciated

Also, the big soldering site you found is for the 95 and 96 HU's, disregard that.

yea it does look a lil pricey, anyone have any experince with usuing this with the bose for their mp3 player? And does anyone know how difficult it is to take out the Bose hu unit to plug this thing in?

if the 99's dash is setup the same as a 96, it's a matter of popping a few trim pieces out and undoing a few screws. The upper vent piece comes out with a little elbow grease, the shifter trim piece comes out fairly easily, then there are screws behind these pieces that come out, and the whole HU comes out.

Doesn't your Headunit have a cassette player? If so and your tight on cash get a cassette adapter ($12 i think for cassete adapter and power adapter, less for just the cassette maybe $3), I use one for mine and have no complaints about the sound quality...

and yeah you can't compare the SQ of an FM modulator to a cassette adapter...
Cassette Adapter >< FM Modulator

its what i use to play cd-rs and for my iPod. works great, i have no complaints. problem i faced was it sounded overdriven. so just turn down your iPod/cd player and turn up the headunit and that will fix it.
otherwise for under 20 bucks (got mine for 15 at circuit city) its amazing quality and hasnt failed me yet.

so i bought the tape adapter but the SQ is horrible a very constant static sound at low volumes and when i turn it up it distorts, thanks for your opinions but the sq doesn't cut it for me. I am using a samsung ty9 mp3 player maybe its is diff for an i pod.
