Ajustments Necessary?

Is it necessary to adjust your iacv when u install a cold air intake. when i installed mine, and i removed the TPS and started my car it stalled out, i adjusted it so now when the TPS is disconnected the car stays on, the only difference is now i hear a constant vocuum sound coming from the intake, yo can hear the air whistling through the intake when its idle, any suggestions?
