Check out dumb I am!!! Hurray!

So, I decided to re-do my entire dash, climate control LED's and re-do my stereo harnest for a cleaner install. So far the stereo portion of the project is flawless, looks really good... (have not tested yet)

So, I already have the blue LED's inside my climate control, but there were hot spots because the LED's wernt properly in the holes, so I thought it be a wise choice to glue them in place. Clearly I used too much glue... The glue went throughout the climate control and fubared 2 of my buttons. I have a hard time turning the fan speed down now, cant turn it up at ALL (besides auto) and the temperature up and down are hella sticky.......

The up side is the lights stay in place......

TIP: DONT GLUE NEAR BUTTONS!!!!!

Just thought I would share that with you guys

is the glue obvious on the face of the climate control ? if so pictures? =P

i'm sure if you push it enough times the glue fades away.

i guess thats one way to say "style over function"

no, you can not see the glue. I put the unit face down so the lights would stay in place.... i guess the glue went thru the cracks. Doh..... I was hoping that maybe a really hot summer day, and 10,000 pushes might solve the issue.

Have you tried a desolvent like Goo Gone?, and since its on the inside I would try shaving it off with an abrasive or a single edge blade but be careful.

I would like to take a guess and say no, its not like water that would seep through into your board and mess it up, I would take a tooth brush dip it in the bottle then shake it off. Brush where you need to, then wipe access off, its an idea. I used to do this to phones and pagers that people would put crazy glue on to try to help them and fix what they broke, and I guess it depends on how much glue got in there.

Also I thought it was the housing you were referring to, and not the circuit board. Its a thought, if anyone here can give some input to this method it would help.

I could see the hot glue being more effective then the "wait till it drys" glue..

the way I did it was i jsut poored glue into the 4 holes from behind where the LED's Go, and let it sit on my desk at work face down.. the glue went.... Who knows where at this point....

I guess the good thing about all this is atleast I got paid to Fubar my car !
