I agree with most of the comments. The thing that does get me, is the newbies that post questions that have been answered and re answered 100,000 times. We were all guilty of it atleast once, i know i have, it does get very annoying fast, especially as a mod to have to read and see how many they are. Also when they got no responses in a particular forum they go post it in other ones. If you guys are looking for another mod, my knowledge of 4th gens isnt as much as other people, im still learning, but im on here ALOT.

thanks for stepping up to the plate. Lets make the 4th gen forum a better place.

It's always been a good place but we have a lot of things going on in our lives right now but we will take care of business from here on in. I'll make myself known to the noobs who think they're running this forum.

There is nothing like a comment like this to make new people feel uninvited. being new to a forum doesnt sapek to their knowledge or experience with the topic of said forum and I think that is a fact that should be emphasized by "mods". Not encouraging the oh so common "noob bashing".

I think the people who have been part of the boards for a substantial amount of time (around 2 years) should be the "big brother" figures of the 4th gen forums. I mean, we've been here for so long and we know so much more than most maxima owners out there. Some people come in here crying about their "SEL being on", and then the flaming goes on that it's really the "CEL" adn read the stickies. I mean COME ON. all you had to do was say "check your local autozone for a free code lookup, or read the stickies to find out how to do it on your own. " and post one link.

I find myself steering away from the 4tn gen forums as well, not because I don't own one anymore, but to avoid idiot posts from long term members that I can name. I think I frequent the Classifieds and member rides and then I'm out.

it takes the same amount of time and energy to direct someone in the right direction, as it does to flame someone. .02

I agree that there is much room for improvement, especially here in the 4th gen. forums. However, my personal experience as a noob was that I made a blatant error posting a question that had been answered thousands of times, and was flamed hard for it. I remember feeling incredibly stupid, but I also remember learning to stfu, pay for the search feature, and read, re-read, and then read some more before ever posting. Maybe it doesn't work that way on most people, but in retrospect I think the flaming as a little initiation helped me figure out right quick how things worked around here.

Listen, I'm the moderator here. Since I have to break it down I will.

My comments are toward all you newjacks that come here thinking you can treat anyone newer to the org than yourselves with disrespect. You are just trying to make an argument about something in which you don't even know what you're talking about. Don't try to start something about 'mods" just because your level of comprehension falls short of a 2 year old.
