haha its all good man ;-)
I am happy that i got that much money for it i KNOW it was not worth that much. As far as the doors, they were locked GUARANTEED, i always lock my car even if im supposed to be back in like 2 minutes or its in front of my house.

I dont know how the theif for into my car, on the camera i could not tell because the camera was $hit, and when the cops recovered it i saw no damage to the door, probly the old trick when they stick that big metal thing that looks like a ruler and pop the lock.

The guys that do this in my area are straight up good at what they do, they steal all kinds of cars, they once took a 91 VW passat i think, the car had nothing in it and was driven by some poor A$$ lady, now thats cruel, why not steal a BMW or a Porsche, when u know that person has 2way insurance and get their money back, stealing from the poor is low, very low

As far as the alarm goes, i got the best i could at the time with the amunt of money that i had, there is no point now in paying more money for another alarm, i guess its just for piece of mind more than actual security.

...A bent metal clothes hanger??? I've broken into a van doing that.(Friends mom car, locked her keys inside, wasn't trying to steal a van. ) Idk how the lock is to open the doors of a neon are. but I know on a maxima. the lock is hard to push. I've tried breaking into my car with a clothes hanger. and its VERY hard. the lock is just to low and to weird like. The hanger kept bending when I would try to prop it open. But I'm sure if somebody really wanted to break in they could. My car alarm is pretty damn sensitive though. So I don't think so. The best thing you could do is take your car alarm out. sell it on ebay and get a Viper. Then it wont be fore piece of mind anymore.

Show a pic of the Neon!

Those look alot better than the stock ones, Why do you need to paint them? They look dark enough.
Oh and as far as the steelie showing through. Yeah. Just take the wheels off and grind those suckers down and paint them like a flat black color. then put the hubbies back on. Should look a little better. o_O

And does anyone know how much Stock 5 spoke rims weigh? EA?

ok here is the detail i might have missed:

Right now i am going through a rift with my GF so i live in my parents house and the car is garage kept 100 % of the time, the scary time comes when i go to work. I work at a movie theatre, one of the biggest in Canada, we do have security cameras, but they are crap. There is at least one car stolen or broken into every 2 - 3 weeks, this happens PERIODICALLY and i have been working there for almost 3 and a half years. My old car 97 neon was also stolen from that parking lot which the cops later recovered.

i want 99 se rims (5spoke) to keep things stock and not attract attention, but for now i wanna paint the stock hubcaps i have in my garage (not currently on the car) since i cant afford any rims or new rubber at the moment. So i created this thread to ask for help from anyone who has any experience painting anything similar. Hubcaps are subjected to heat, cold, salt snow, water and whatever else the road throws at them.

So whats the best way to paint them? what type of spray paint should i use ? and what are the procedures?

i do believe some of this was answered in an earlier post, but that was my initial intent in creating this thread. Thank you very much for participating and reading.. please continue

take off the hubcaps and leave you tires on all black, it will look better and make it look like your currently working on a project, lol, it makes it look like your currently more worried doing work underneith the hood then to buy new rims.

They are called "hubcaps." 4th gens only came from the factory with one style of hubcaps (at least in America).

Until you get more money, look at some 3rd gen alloy 15" rims, or some sawblades. While neither are perfect, either will look better- in my opinion- than painted hubcaps. I have bought sets of those as winter wheels for as little as $120 shipped for all 4.

Rather than paint my hubcaps, I would take my stock steelies and paint THEM gunmetal and then run chrome lugnuts.

There you go. Paint the stock steelies. Haven't seen that done too often. Creative and will get you through until you get money for the SE rims you want.

i love the colour of your rims man, in fact, if my max was black, i would lean towards getting everything else black or dark like you did as well.

what percentage are your tints ? look very dark

Yes, I painted mine about 2 months back. The paint was gone, atleast about 90% of it was. I used some wheel paint. Worked nice, easy and it looks a lot better than the flat gray...Holding up pretty well too.
