4th Gen -to> 5th Gen engine swap questions...

Hello All. I havent been online in quite awhile.
The Blue max lost its transmission last summer and has 189K on it orig....

I plan on swapping engine's this summer but have questions. I've read before that we can swap a 2000max engine into a 4th Gen, Mines a 95'
Q: are these virtually the exact same engine's and transmissions?

I'd like to do a fast swap but dont wanna go through alot of mess.

Q: also, if i found a 2000max engine/tranny combo w/low miles and it was an auto tranny... would that swap direct into my 95?

Reason: I really hate to swap any wiring modules or computers or make the job any harder....... I have a house/farm and 5acres now and dont really have alot time to spare.... just tryin to do the swap really quick.

also: any suggestions on a cherry picker? engine hoist? what size?

Thankyou all. I tried to search sum threads but i get some fatal error msg....

If you don't want to mess with harnesses etc, why not use a 95 engine?

yes you can put the 2000-2001 engine in with very little problem. The DEK is known to be smoother and has a better intake manifold. You should swap if your 95 engine is on its last leg or you just want more performance out of your car.

If it is necessary to get a new engine, do not bother putting in a DE ... get a DEK.

I wouldn't mess with automatic tranny swapping either.
