ODB 2 Issues

I have recently moved to Georgia and now have to have an emissions inspection done before I can register my vehicle here. That being said, I took the car to an emissions inspection station a few days ago and they were not able to get readout from my ODB port on my car. Therefore I can’t pass emissions testing without it. Any Ideas? I have in the past used the small screw located on the computer to check computer codes and clear them. Could this be the problem or may it be something more serious? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i believe the only way that screw would be a problem is if you didnt turn it back to where it was before hand. sounds like you have a problem with the DLC itself. go figure, i just learned on friday how to test them....but by sunday ive already forgotten. haha....ill bookmark this and when i get back to school later today (around 4 or 5 EST) ill check my notes and let you know.

alright just checked my notes and testing the DLC wouldnt be something you can do on your own unless you own some expensive equiptment. you need a lab scope, access to All Data (or other source to find which pins in the DLC are power & ground), a scan tool, and T-pins. when you find out which pins are what in the DLC you backprobe them w/ the T-pins, and plug the scan tool in. then you put the lab scope onto the T-pins and you have to watch the graph and know what kind of network it is to know what kind of graph you want to see and blah blah....basically, if you really want to find out if the DLC is the problem i would suggest having a shop look at it...

Thanks for the input. I was hoping it was more simple but I may be stuck. I will however check the small screw on the ECU
