Ok, I have to replace the fog lamps and the brackets, and I have the two new lamps and the brackets. While looking at the situation the other day, I am seeing that the screws that are currently holding the old brackets to the car are extremely rusted and look like they will possibly break off when I go to take them off tomarrow. Any ideas on how I should go about doing this? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

 

Mine broke on me when I changed out my fog light. I just had to re-drill a new hole in the bracket. You will want to tap the holes or use a bolt, cause the metal of the bumper will strip the bolts.

Other wise, soak them in PB blaster and heat them up. Good luck.

how did you fit a drill in there?

I got 2 that snaped when i put them in. and well i cant fit my drill in there cause its the rear 2. I was looking for some screw extractors but i haven't had time yet to go do it by hand.

 

it looks like there are three 3/8 bolts that hold the bracket in place. they are located on the top of the bracket. If you have a drill with an Angle bit you should be able to get it in there and a little WD40 might help.. one of my brackets are broken, how much did you guys buy the brackets? and where?

 

yea thats what i was going to suggest. go for it and if they break off grab some screw extractors and try those. if not than youll have to drill a new hole.

Same thing happened to me when I replaced the brackets on my fogs. I snapped off the bolts and went to a muffler shop and they welded the brackets on for free.

thats good and bad, at one point it might just rust to death where u might need to change it out and then u can't but that is " maybe" but good deal overall.
