Clearance Light Question
Clearance Light Question
My clearance/corner light was recently replaced and the wrong socket was replaced with the clearance light. The right side (the replaced side) has a 1156 socket while the left (driver's) has a 1157.
I drive a 1997 SE so I was curious as to if the 1156 socket will work fine or if I'm risking something running a 1156 socket in a 1997 that has 1157s stock.
Thanks

I'm aware that the 1157 is a dual filiment and that 1156 is single filament. But I'm curious because the 1156 is much much brighter than the 1157, Plus I don't know why I'd need a dual filiment bulb in the clearance lights. So I think I'd prefer the 1156 because of it's brightness, but I wanted to make sure before I bought a socket that I wouldn't be harming something since it's not stock.
Im bringing this back from the dead...... But I was wanting to put my 1156 from my bumper to my corner... Then using my 1157 in my corner for my blinker, to have then on constantly then blink??? Is that possible? Is there anything I need to know to do this mod?
there is a write up on VQPOWER to do this the correct way, it involves buying new 1157 harness and hooking it up the be always lit on
check that site for a description
'95-96 had flashing clearance lights while using the turn signal, hence the 1157's. IIRC 97-99 didn't.
The clearance lights don't actually flash but they do get brighter depending on which way you signal.
