i can put one hand on the filter and another on the top hose, but its not coming off, it streches and looks like i can rip it, but its not coming off the nose of the filter
what should i do ? i dotn wanna cut anything away
Removing the air intake/MAF provided me much necessary room when I changed my filter. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry the hose off. You just need to be patient and use the screwdriver to break the seal. Then twist and pull once the seal is broken. The bottom hose is easier.

Or you could get a pair of pliers and crush where the hose connects to the filter, or just cut the hose.

take a small flathead. pry it at the tip of the hose. twist it to break the seal (you will hear/feel/see the seal rbeak). then pull like no tomorrow. Put some lube on the new one so this doesnt happen again.

wow everyone has some many problems with the fuel filter. It's not that hard to change. It is a weird grip but you should really have that many problems.

to 2da mizzax, Small flathead is the best because its easier to get between the filter and the line to let that pressure out. Just stay with it and put some strength into it.

ok great, the flat head screw driver method works, i got the top hose off, now i already unscrewed the bottom screw almost all the way , slid the clam down all the way but did the same screw driver method on the bottom hose, it came off HALF way, i can see the shiny metal that was under the hose, but i still cant get it fully off

thig bugger is trying the limits of my patience

Twist and pull......HARD

Use one hand to hold the hose while you yank on the filter.

Get pliers and crush the metal part of the filter that is still stuck in the hose.

why dont you want to cut it? Take cutters and cut right at the bottom of the metal. Takes two seconds. Not like you'll run out of hose or something.

that will cut the hose. just twist pull and remember to lube the new one. once it starts moving it is simple from there.

I GOT IT , I FINALLY GOT IT , OMG

You guys would have laughed ur ***** off if u saw what i was doing at one point, i was sitting on the engine itself yanking the darn thing out.

THANK U GUYS i owe u a case of beer EACH, thanks for the help i could not have done this without the great and mighty .org
the deposits on the bottom of the bottle are unbelievable, this came out the IN side of the filter when i shook it, there seem to be some kind of particles that are on the bottom of the bottle, did this come from the tank or the gas ? it seems impossible that this came from the gas, most likely its some pieces of the inner tank or something like that

here are some shots :

Glad you got that bugger out!! I'm surprised you have any fuel pressure with that gunk in the filter. You should be good for a while with the ZX filter!

BTW, I replaced mine with the 300ZX filter, thanks for this thread!!

car got 211.000 KM on her now, so i think its safe to assume its never been changed ? !!!!

here are some shots of the gunk that sat overnight, the deposits on the bottom are of a sandy nature, but they are very very fine particles, i am curious what they might be...
