Testing Coils
#2
switch the coil in the cylinder it says and see if the code changes to the cylinder you moved that coils too. you can also buy a spark tester for $10. you just place it on the top of the coil and if it lights up then there is spark.

ide assume so. since if it detects spark, it lights up in the middle, and if theres no spark it doesnt light up
theres also another tester that looks like a spark plug (also called a spark tester) which i prefer over the stick type. all you do is pull the coil out, put it on the tester (like a coil fitting over a plug) and then clip it to a ground. then start the car and look at the tester. if it sparking then the coil is good.

does the car run rough yet? most dealers will tell you to continue driving until the car runs rough, then it will throw the code for the exact cylinder. you may want to buy a coil now and be ready to swap it out when that happens -- you don't want to drive long with a misfiring engine.
if the car runs fine, idles fine, then swapping coils around will not help isolate the bad one -- and it may not be a coil at all (many potential causes for a multiple cylinder misfire).
