Just a quick question, my 97 GXE's blower motor chatters and I don't think that it is blowing enough when on recirculate. The fan speeds up just a little when switching from fresh to recirculate but it doesn't make a big differance like in all my past autos. Wondering if anybody else has chattering problems or a weak girly man blower. Don't get me wrong, it still has quite a stream of air when it is cranked to 4 but I dont notice a differance when I switch back and forth. Thank you and call again.

You are right. The Maxima's fan motor is just plain weak and pathetic. On my mom's 99 Camry, the fan blows stronger on the 3rd setting then mine does on 4.

My blower motor made a ticking noise too. Dealer replaced it under warranty, but the new fan is just as weak. So, if you are getting excessive noise, replace the motor. If your motor feels weak, it's normal. I wish I could retrofit it with a stronger motor.

Check your blower motor...for rodent's.
Is your blower motor making noise..like brushling weeds, floping, and or lately interior smelling weird.
You may want to check out the blower motor.
Many times rodent's get inside the blower motor since the heater core is warm.
