Think 1 and 2 would be good? Isn't 1 wayyyy soft? I've never messed around with it since I don't wanna screw them up by having them either too stiff or too soft for a prolonged period of time if it does indeed cause damage...

I have H&R springs with mine. If I have the rear set to anything less than 4, I bottom out very easily from a bump or a dip in the road. I have 235/45/17 tires and the fender will rub the sidewall of the tires. I rarely have anyone in the back seat, but if I do it bottoms out with only the slightest of road surface irregularities. Anyone else have this issue or is it just me?

Remember all the weight is in front, so I think it's best to keep it at 3.
BTW:I have the rear at 5 occasionally, when I'm in back with your gf... J/K

So 3 on the front huh... I'll give it a shot when I head out to school today; make it 3 and 3...

Before I got my 18" wheels my settings were 2F 3R, sometimes 3F 4R (with S-Techs). I find those settings way too jarring now. Everytime I ran over a little pothole it would feel like I had done some damage to my suspension or bent my rim. I've had to adjust them down to 1F 1R. The handling is obviously not the same anymore but I don't mind, I just don't drive as crazy.

I think matching the Illumina's to the springs is the best. I have them set at 1-2f and 2r with stock SE springs. I had the H&R setup and needed to run them as high as 4F and 5R. It's all about the springs. Experiment for the best fit for your springs.

The roads in the Atlanta area generally suck or I would have stayed with the H&R/Illumina combo. On mountain roads the Max handled 100% better than stock. Potholes shook my cd player and my teeth. The Illumina are as soft as stock on 1F. But about 20% harder than stock struts on 2F. You never loose the comfort, because the SE springs are soft. Great combo for ME! Since you are local we could meet up and you can see first hand!!

Interestingly, my dearly-departed '86 626 turbo had the electronically adjustable suspension. There were 3 settings (I think..it's been awhile)
- Normal
- Sport
- Auto
Normal was the softest, while sport had both front & rear at hard settings. The auto setting would "automatically " set the fronts to hard at h/way speeds, leaving the rear at normal stiffness. The manual said this enabled better directional stability at highway speed. I miss some of the features on that car...

This is what I found out about Eibach Pro-Kit:
Eibach Pro-kit Springs
Description: The Eibach Pro-kit has a 1.5" front 1.3" rear drop and are known to be fairly stiff. Probably one of the top performing springs (next to race coilovers) due to the stiffness and ride height. These springs are known to be stiff and should be paired with Koni Yellows, KYB AGX, or Tokico Illuminas. Spring rates = Front 166~257 / Rear 166~343.
