You gripe that the thread is a year old, but at least he searched before starting a new post. If a thread is bumped uselessly, I deal with that. This post was bumped due to its content being relevent to his situation. Had he NOT searched, someone would have told him to search.
I await your reply.
Of course man, We are ALLLLL ur friends -- we are ALLLLL special LOL

First off, I do run this place. I run it FOR the benefit of 4th gen owners, but I still run it. Sorry if you think otherwise, but only one of us can lock, edit, delete, and move posts...or ban users. Guess who that is- I'll give you a hint: it's not you.
I am the 4th gen moderator because when I had one, I tried to innovate. I did new stuff, did write-ups, passed on the information that I had, made recommendations based on REAL experience, and was more informed than most other users in here. First, I was just in the I30 forum, but then I moved over here as well, since I knew what I was doing.
Over my time, I am pretty confident in saying that from 02 (when I got my 96) Maxima to 04 (when my I30 got totalled) that I contributed as much as any other member in here- at least as much useful, accurate, and topical information as anyone. If you don't believe me, search.
So without you, we'd have pretty much the same info that we had before. I am pretty confident that I could more than cover the contribution that you make. On top of that, I don't think that too much new info comes up these days- hence the high number of reposts. So really, if we just archived the 4th gen forum and enabled search, I'd say that 99.9% of the problems, issues, questions, and concerns that people have could be found with the existing information base. There is more than enough content to keep people busy.
So sure, think that you rule the place. Just don't think for a second that your "contribution" adds so much that we'd miss you.

Well I'm sorry if God all mighty himself has not given ME the skills to reinvent the wheel and create new information on cars up to 12 years old. Not all of us are as gifted the The phenryiv1 himself. ;-)
Honestly i came here in the beginning because of a few problems with my new car, since then i have solved those problems using information provided by people such as yourself and for that I am grateful, but i have stuck around because its interesting for me to learn more. On the other hand, whether you or anyone else on this site misses me or not is really not up to me to decide and certainly not up to you. I think i have contributed to this site one way or another, maybe not with write ups but with information regular people like myself find useful in everyday mechanics. No turbos, no racing, no supercharging, no crazy stuff like that, but the basics. For example i dont know if u remeber but my thread on same tires with different threads got little attention on this site-- why ? because people on here rather have rims and low profile sports racing tires and dont give a damn about regular everyday drivers who's tires meause a 205/65 R15.

I don't want to lock this thread in case some people want to comment on the 1405, but this has gotten out of hand.

Just to clarify some things, I really hate it when D**S**** like yourself just jump in a thread and start bashing. I help run a couple non automotive related forums, and as phenryiv1 put it If you were just some troll I'd have banned you as soon as I read that post and that's also how I deal with it. It's very counter productive, and just adds distraction, and generally wastes people's time, like the moderators.
Secondly, if you would learn to read, I wrote yeah, a noob that WAS a Nissan A tech for five years, hence, in the past. My last year at Nissan was 1996, and I left on good terms thru a very hard decision to let my wife start her career when she got out of college. I left Nissan making 65k that year, but with her lambskin in electronic engineering I couldn't compete with her pay/benefits, and since we didn't want our kids in daycare I had to give my passion up.
And the reason I posted the symptoms of my wife's car was not because I'm stupid, I included it to help others with similar problems, to see if there was a common factor in the mystery code. I could have just been a ***** and posted "what's 1405 do, I need to know" and just left with no other concern. It's only when a group of people get together that difficult problems can be solved. I joined over a month ago when I posted my question, since then I've been lurking on and off and reading other threads. Some of those threads I could have stepped in and helped, but the questions were already answered and there was no need. In general, other members want to help here, it's a good thing.
Now to put you straight, a stealership, as you put it, is not generally there for people who buy used cars, because? They normally can't afford it, and if they could, more then likely they would be driving a new car, and not some 10 year old 150,000 mile $4,000 car. The dealership is there for those with the money, or those that don't know squat to even change there oil, and generally want a dependable vehicle that "shouldn't" break down on them.
I'd bet there are more auto technicians on here then you think, helping those that need it, for the most part because they just like helping people. I also imagine some younger folks from here have gone on to work for an auto shop, cause working on your own vehicle is a learning experience, they'll come here when they get stumped. The majority of people on this site shouldn't be working on there own car, from lack of experience, the tools needed, and mechanical aptitude, most I think will admit it, but over time they will/have learned allot by others helping, read that again, HELPING, not being a troll. I do understand why they need to work on there own vehicle, it's expensive to have someone else work on it, some i'm sure do it for fun and learn more.
Anyway, my advice to you is just grow up, show some respect, and in general, stop being a homo.
phenryiv1 Thank you for splitting this thread so the others didn't have to endure the bickering. And I apologize for you having to get involved with this.
