9007 tips and trick for seating bulb

anyone have little tips and tricks for this. I did the conversion a WHILE back and finally had to replace a bulb today. I noticed that my driver's side bulb isn't sitting extremely secure compared to my pass side or stock. I understand since i sanded the 2 nubs off it will be not extremely snug in there but right now driver side is off the walls. I placed some foam stuff in between hoping to get it to sit better but no luck. with the ring fully secure i can't move the bulb on the pass side by wiggling the harness but i still can with the driver side. i rather not silcone or something like that in. Looking for other ideas how to properly seal and secure the 9007 bulb.

you prolly dont have it in right place.. go check again. and if it is then and still move around then you need new headlight or secure it with silicone. or jus leave it the way it is

I just finished this mod over the weekend and it was pretty simple. One side was a bit harder to get the bulb in but a little more sanding of the nub and it fit extremely well. It's almost like OEM now too.

When you put the bulb in, is it easy to turn the locking ring? If not, try sanding it a little more where the nubs were. That's what I did to get both to fit just right.

Hmmm, in my conversion both bulbs sit solidly, simply took an Xacto knife and took a bit off the nubs, and the ring keeps them in place, try to play with your bulbs I guess

On another note, if anyone is doing this mod and having any trouble with the harness mod and doesn't want to alter their factory harness

For sale are custom made 9004 to 9007 harness for those with fourth gens looking to use a 9007 HID kit or 9007 bulbs.
These come with a 3 year limited warranty and fully assembled for plug and play operation. Please note this mod is very minor and easy, but requires reaiming of the headlights. See forum about 9007 conversion

Asking Price: $30 Shipped w/Warranty (Discount org group purchase can be arranged too,)
Plug and play the new bulbs, only modification required is removal of two small tabs in the bulb socket! Pictures coming and price is negotiable!
Open to feedback!

Comes with instructions with pictures and guide to re-aiming lights.
Please let me know if this is the wrong place to post this

My housings took more than just trimming the nubs. I have to dremel all around the bulb because the bulb was just slightly bigger that it needed to be. Also, I would recommend just replacing the passenger side because there is still quite a bit of glare compared to the 9004, regardless of how it's aimed. No need to further blind oncoming traffic with the driver side too.

i did the same. i took a piece of paper around the 9004 and marked the slots, then wrapped that piece of paper around the 9007, lining up the top slot, then marked where i needed to cut new slots.
this way i can go back to 9004s and not have to worry about them not fitting right. not sure why i would want to do that though!

dremel the three slots bigger on the 9007 lights, not the housings. it might take a little while bit do it little by little and it will sit in perfectly. then grip and twist (HOMO)
