Headers, do i need a new clutch???

Hey guys, i was thinking about getting headers but i was wondering if i will need a performance clutch to handle the extra hp????? or will stock clutch be fine?

I got a y-pipe, high flow cat, and custom exhaust.

Your clutch is probably fine. You are anywhere between 170-180whp.

stock clutch will be able to handle any headers put on your car. You'd be suprised at the gains you'll get from headers... not as impressive as desired

Your stock clutch will handle but..

If you have HIgh miles and plan on keeping ur car for a while i'd Replace the clutch wit a (5thgen clutch or any excedy stage1) adn while 'm down there replace the headers (alot easier).

If you already have the Y pipe then you wont even notice much of a gain if any with the headers.
Why would you think the power would be so great as to kill your clutch? It doesnt add 100+hp.

If you read some more, you might save some bucks and do some other mods rather than headers. imo.

going from ypipe to headers will yield 6-8hp more at best, IIRC.

MEVI and you stock clutch will be fine. If you really want to, I am running and Exedy Stage 1 clutch with my v2 supercharger and it's holding fine.

Flywheel wont do much for power. It will free up some power but nothing real noticable.RPMS will climb faster though, as well as drop faster too.
MEVI really needs the ECU with raised limiter to see its true gain, 00vi would be the better setup for no ECU upgrade.

I'm really going to have to disagree with the flywheel not doing much for power, with a lighter flywheel playing around in 1st gear your car will be a neck snapping beast. Makes me wish I could get alumunim axle's and even lighter rims.

BS, I have a 5lb Stillen flywheel and when I put it in it didnt yeild a "neck snapping beast" and its lighter then a Fidanza flywheel. The rpms do climb a lot quicker but that doesnt mean its building that much more power. Its just accelerating a bit quicker just as weight reduction would cause you to accelerate quicker.
I had it paired with a UR UDP, and by your theory it should have been making even more power?
I think the Y pipe would give better power gains the the light weight flywheel.
