RE: 19" with a 2" drop...
The thing with 19" is that if you lower the car any, you wil have wheel rub. And since you have lowered it 2", you will have a good deal of wheel rubbing in the wheelwells. Also, you ride will get MUCH firmer again. If you can get 19"x8", or 19"x8.5" with a 5x114.3(5x4.5) lug size. However, I would stray from the 8.5s, because you might get wheel rub when you turn. Just trying to help.

19 ?? 20 ???? damn! That should be more firm a ride than a ford explorer. And not to mention how much slower it will make you. But, It WILL turn heads. Im getting 17"'s, and thought with a little lowering, they'd look quite good. Who knew.

You'll be fine with 19's. Just get 235 or maybe even 245/35/19 tires on a rim with a 35-40 offset. My rim/tires are fine on my car with only a little modification to my rear fenders. Just remember to put on a body kit with the big rims or else your car will look like a 4x4

No, you won't rub. I have 19"s w/ a 3.5" drop and never rub. The overall diameter of the wheel remains the same, plus the maxima has huge wheel wells. The wheels will only rub if you get the wrong offset.

Re: Re: RE: 19" with a 2" drop...
Doesn't the year/style maxima have something to do with it. I was told by a mechanic at the nissan dealership I shouldn't put 17" rims on my 95 max because they weren't meant to have that big of rims on there, even with low profile tires. maybe he was a moron. I don't know. Just passing on imformation.

WTF ? That's a dumb thing to say. The Majority of Max. Enthusiasts have 17" Wheels.(from what I've observed). Alot being 95' owners. I own a '95 and have 17"'s on the way. That guy proly just got off smokin the bong or somethin.

Re: Just curious...
well thanks everyone. does anyone have a pic of the max w/19's? if so can you tell me your rim width and offset as well as tire size? my 17s looked so big until i got the stillen kit! now they look like donuts.i dont care much about rubbing. it's better than bottoming out all the time and killing my poor kit. when's the next meet up in CA anyway?
