Help! Car won't start

Hello.

The car in question is actually my dad's car. He has a 1999 GLE auto. The car has been sitting for nearly 3 weeks because it refuses to start. It turns over fine though. Basically, we thought that the fuel pump went out because we couldn't hear the pump turn on when the car turned on, so we changed it, but it still wouldn't start. We then checked all of the fuses and relays, but they all checked out good. We then checked for spark by pulling a couple of spark plugs and they all checked out good.

This is very frustrating and any help or input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

99 models have been known to do crazy things with the immobilizer circuit.

Is the red security lamp LED flashing?

slinky87, I pulled the fuel line off the rail and it was getting gas.

oldngivout, I will take a look at the security light as soon as my dad gets home.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Alright, I just looked at the car and the security light stays on when the key is in the ON position. What exactly does this mean?

4th gen keys dont have transponders or chips in the keys
heres something to try out pull all security related relay's and fuses from the engine bay. re-install, unlock your door manually with the key and hopefully it'll work for you

Try telling that to a 99 owner.

Every Max INCLUDING 99 has it.

Oh crap, I meant every Max including 99 and later. I knew better, it just didn't come out right.

Ok people, let's get this straight.

Pre 99 Maximas don not have it. My 95 does not. So, the above statement is false.
