Whats up everyone. I just purchased Konig Wheels (17x7) and was wondering the exact fit for them. Would it be

225/45/17 ?

OR

225/40/17 ?

BTW, The wheels are Konig Caffeines, if this helps any.

And about the lowering...if I got the coil-overs, would that be ALL I needed ? Or would I be better off buying the shocks, springs, ect. seperately ? Thanks

40 profile is too small, go with 45 or 50 (225/50/17 is the stock size on the 5th gen SE 17s).

I went w/ Falken GRB's at 225/45ZR17 - I was told that this was the correct plus 2 sizing. After reading the other post and noting how hard my car hits bumps now, I would probably recommend the 225/50's also. Good luck! Either way, you wont believe the difference, everything is better than stock.

Hey, are your wheels 17x7 ? Your car hits bumps hard and you recommend your tires ?

Ya, I'm looking forward to the new styling and handling im going to get, but don't know jack-**** about tires and am hesitant which ones will fit/perform the best !

For the best performance go with 225/40/17 tires. Using these tires will make your speedomiter a little off. You will be going faster than what the speedomiter will read. If you have coilovers you will also need to get new shocks. The stock ones will work for about 3,000 miles.

Yeah, my wheels are 17X7 and I do recommend the tires. I love my Falkens, the only thing I ment to point out was that getting a tire w/ a taller profile may lessen some of the bumps. I've had the Tokico/Intrax set up for about 3Kmiles and don't have any probs. If you're sole purpose is handling go w/ the lower profile. If you want a big improvement over stock and a little cushier ride go w/ the slightly taller profile. All I'm sayin' is the smaller the profile the harder your car hits Hope this helps.

Originals were 215/55R16's. My new rims are 18x7 and tires are 225/40ZR18. Handling is much better, you can feel the bumps but it rides pretty nice.

I'm assuming you have a 4th gen. The correct size tire for 17x7 rims is 215/50/17 if you want to maintain correct speedometer readings. You can also use 235/45/17 to maintain correct readings, but this size is usually for 17x7.5 rims because it's wider. The correct size tire for the 5th gen is 225/50/17.

225/50-17 is a rare tire size however.

im using 235/45/17 on mine, wide enough, not too much sidewall, but enough to prevent rims from bending, about perfect if i say so, nt-555

You must also be embarrassed that your signature actually says you have 17x8 wheels when your message says that you have 17x7 wheels.
