Exhaust Question

Sorry to be a noob but a Y-Pipe is the same thing as a Race Pipe correct. Also would this be a loud setup for an exhaust.

Stillen Y-Pipe off headers, Race Pipe to remove cat, then the Greddy Muffler and B pipe,

would that be a loud exhaust setup sorry to be a noob.

Why do you ask if they're the same thing, then list both? Test (race) pipe just eliminates the cat, the y-pipe eliminates both pre-cats.

no "google" so you guys are saying a test pipe (race) is different then a y-pipe thats basically just a straight pipe right and i could use both the y-pipe and test pipe and b pipe with a Exhaust with no problems or i dont need the test pipe.

sorry for the question thats why i said it was a noob question.

These two items could not be more different, and yet still be bolted to the car as parts of an exhaust system.

Yes, you can.

Any exhaust shop can make you one, but it is illegal- you will have to pay them under the table.

You are wasting time and money with a race pipe- you will see NO gains with it.

if u take the cats of anything it would be very loud, thats why street bikes with simple mufflers are so loud, like my friend has a maxima with no cats and its louder than cobra mustangs

Keep the cat on there, if not for the environment, then at least to make it sound decent. Also I think you're in the wrong forum. Your profile says you drive a 5th gen, yet your in the 4th gen forum. Either way a Y-pipe or Test pipe is the same. Just telling you.

No. You would NOT be looking at more HP by running a test pipe. You would just be driving a loud, illegal car that is bad for the environment and that makes no more HP than a car with a high-flow cat...

Equal (or near) length headers, mandrel bent B -pipe, (Cattman) + 5th gen rear muffler will net you the most whp and also be very subtle sounding.

Leave the cat like everyone else sated.

if you want your car to sound like a v8, then youre driving the wrong car. with a nice exhaust setup a maxima can sound great. IMO theres a difference between a loud car and a good sounding loud.

warpspeed y pipe! You'll get your monies worth with those...Im not sure if they are doing the 160 shipped anymore... I had a warpseed y custom exhaust stock cat and flowmaster 40 muffler..Sounded like a v8 no doubt.
