Auto climate control swap?

If I have manual AC, is it possible to just swap the control unit with an auto climate one? Or is there much more involved than that to make it work? I don't know how Nissan set up the temp sensors, etc..

I've seen a couple posts about this before and I'm pretty sure it costs a couple g's. It was something that is possible but is nowhere near the realm of being worth the trouble.

There is a how to in the stickys. There are a lot more components then just the unit there are 4 sensors you need to find and the hardest part about the swap is finding the parts there weren't too many maxima's made with auto climate control. Once you put the control unit in and wire up all the sensors you're good to go.

Wow ... thanks mates! I did a quick search before coming to work tonight, but I guess I should have looked more huh. :fruit:

So ... maybe I should pull my foot out of my mouth for the couple G's comment ... WOW! I see a few from time to time on the class. forums ... $30 or $40 each ... W/O sensors I am certain. I guess the next ? is ... how much are the sensors and how reliable would "used" ones be? I would like to do this ... but, I may find out it's just not worth it at all and that is what I am tryin to do now.

Sensors and wiring will be expensive, find a parts car and get it out of that.

True dat Kevlo! If I can find a parts car ... no 4th Gens around Springfiled anyway ... I'll try to get the whole set-up .. maybe minus the unit itself. I'll try to get that off the Calssif forums
