ECU gone for Broke, now what?
I just did my O2 sensors and vehicle speed sensor on transaxle, someone did my CV boots for me, I replaced my knock sensor about 10months ago, just ordered my EGRC Valve (1005 code) - tentative incoming Wednesday. I also had a piece of my exhaust welded.
Car just hit 100K and I'm quite certain my ECU is bad, because a mechanic told me so and i'm pulling code 0504.
Say I do go about replacing the ECU, I just called the junk yard and they said they have one for me. How much should I be looking to spend on it? Most estimates i've seen are $500 brand new, $300 rebuilt, $xx salvage?
Can I go with a tuner model for in or around $500? I don't ever plan to turbo this car, just all-motor stuff if anything.

Get a new mechanic. Read the stickys for further information re: the code, because it does not mean you need a new ECU. http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...56&postcount=1
If it turns out you do, as others said, try www.car-part.com for a used ECU.
