Does the homelink unit on the 97 SE work with Rolling Code Garage Door Openers? I lost my car's manual and don't have the instructions, so I took my father's instructions, 2001 Acura 3.2CL and his work for resetting it but not for programming. However, we have a Rolling Code Garage Door Opener and the Acura handbook says something like, "Homelink also includes support for new anti-theft rolling code systems"

I'm thinking in 97 it wasn't programmed to support that yet?

If someone could read me the instructions on how to program a button and if they've been able to program with Rolling Codes? Genie calls their system, "Intellicode"

Thanks for the reply, I have hope now!

Well, on my 99SE w/homelink, you hold the garage door transmitter up to the homelink cluster, and press garage transmitter button and homelink button you want to use at the same time, and hold them for 30-40secs. what'll happen is the LED on the Homelink transmitter will stay on for around 30 seconds, and once its been programmed it'll start blinking repeatedly until you release the button.

Hope this helps. Course I have no idea if the 97 and 99's have different homelink systems

Well mine blinks slowly when I hold it down, and according to my dad's acura's instructions it should start blinking rapidly when programmed, but I've held mine up there for a while and it hasn't received it. Maybe I just didn't do it long enough.

I held the garage receiver down then I held the third button down. After about 60 seconds the homelink stopped blinking and it doesn't appear to be charged?

Here's a link to the Homelink page which might help. I think on a rolling code GDO you need to go to the main unit to do the programming and not use the hand held transmitter.

Yeah apparently the Maxima's Homelink just doesn't work with my Genie Intellicode system. It just won't accept receivers information. However, my dad's 2001 Acura does =(

Is there a part number?

Howdy all:

Is there a part number for the visor with the homelink that would fit in a 96 with a tan interior?? I would love to put one in my 96. Would I have to run power to it??

I would appreciate any help.

Best regards,

tony

GE Intellicode solution

BrianV - I had the same dilema with the GE and the '97 homelink. Lots of people on the NissanUSA board where asking too (don't ask why I bothered reading there)

Nissan customer service sent me an adapter called "Lift Master Security Plus". Plugs into an AC outlet and your GDO main unit. That made my homelink talk to the GE.

Don't know if they'll still send these free but it's worth a try.

Had homelink and REALLY didn't want the GDO on my visor.
